2009 Social Events
QREX 2007 participants enjoyed a host of social events. The events gave exhibitors and visitors a chance to network in a very relaxed environment.
State of Origin with Choppy
The opening event was State of Origin with Choppy. It was an excellent night under the stars where 280 guests enjoyed Chris "Choppy" Close not only give insight on his history with the Maroons, but also amuse the crowd with his life experiences and advise on why the Blues couldn't win. This was all enjoyed over a tasty feast served by Rydges Resorts.
Welcome Function and Rodeo
Held at Rockhampton's legendary Great Western Hotel, visitors were able to get a real taste of Rockhampton. A live rodeo featuring some of Central Queensland's best bull riders was held along with a good old-fashioned barbeque. There were 230 guests.
East Street Comes Alive/Rocky on Sale
East Street really did come alive with a street party drawing in a crowd of 4,500. Walking through East Street visitors were able to experience local culture. A variety of live music from country to Jazz was played from musicians off all ages. Many participants enjoyed local restaurants as they soaked in the atmosphere. It was a family affair with face painting, kids rides, a magic and clown show for kids and of course late night shopping as part of Rocky on Sale. Rocky on Sales was a week full of sales held at participating shops during QREX. Stockland Rockhampton provided bus service from QREX to Stockland allowing visitors to partake in the many sales.
QREX 2009 will host a range of social events excellent for networking in a relaxed atmosphere. Events wll be posted soon. Please check back.
