QREX 2007 initiated by Rockhampton City Council, Central Queensland University, Queensland Resources Council, Organisers (TSO) ran over 4 days, 23-26 May. The trade show was officially opened by John Mickel, Queensland Minister for State Development, Industrial Relations and Employment and hosted nearly 250 exhibitors.

The show had an excellent variety of exhibitors showcasing innovative products and services from drilling systems and mining software to training and employment services. Blackwoods came in full force with 29 suppliers exhibiting at QREX. Department of Emergency Services exhibition stand was remarkable, winning them best stand.

A Regional Showcase made up of Rockhampton Region local authorities raised awareness of the opportunities Central Queensland has for new business set up.

In addition to Queensland, exhibitors were present from New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, ACT and Western Australia.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources Bob Baldwin, visited QREX on Saturday 26 May 2007 and formally closed the trade show.

Highlights included the Supply Chain & Networking Centre organised with Logistics & Supply Chain (L&SC) strategies.

The Meet and Buyer program featured buyers from Anglo Coal's Callide and Dawson mines and BHP Mitsubishi Alliance.

Much of the feedback from visitors and exhibitors has been very positive and QREX 2007 has built a positive platform for 2009.
