Going Green

Issues such as carbon emissions and global warming are major concerns throughout the world and here in Central Queensland they are just as important to the community and the resources industry.

In the lead up the QREX, the team are researching and implementing greener practices that will minimise the event’s footprint on the environment.  As this progresses, we will continue to update this page with our strategies and actions.

We invite you to consider similar measures when planning your participation in QREX.  These may include:

  • Purchasing carbon credits to offset your travel to and within Rockhampton
  • Selecting nearby accommodation and walking or carpooling to venues
  • Travel to QREX social events on the scheduled buses rather than taking individual cars
  • Ensuring all your waste, including cigarette butts, are placed in rubbish bins at the venues and around Rockhampton
