Australian Resources Careers Market

The Australian Resources Careers Market (ARCM) was held as part of QREX at the Rockhampton Showgrounds from Tuesday 21 July to Thursday 23 July 2009.  As a centre of education and inspiration, the ARCM’s primary role is interaction with the public to showcase resources careers, training, education and employment support.

Skilling, Up-Skilling & Re-Skilling

Explore the diverse career paths available within the resources sector and get up-to-date information on your training and education options.

Consider specialising within your current field or improving your current skills with further education and job training opportunities.

Or look to return to a past career path or move into a new profession with re-skilling and re-training opportunities, recruitment assistance and networking with business leaders.

The ARCM  included a core group of training and education providers and recruitment agencies and departments to help people get the information they needed.

The Market also included a presentation area for employment related talks and seminars. Seminars covered topics from Women in Resources to Skills Shortages and featured speakers from CQUniversity Australia, the Department of Mines and Energy, and the Queensland Resources Council.

More than Just a Showcase

The Australian Resources Careers Market was more than just a showcase for resources careers.

The resource industry in Central Queensland booms continues to have a significant impact on local industry and business and more supporting trades and industries are needed to sustain the population and economic growth.  The ARCM showcased career options that support the resources industry.
